David MandelDavid S. Mandel’s practice focuses on complex commercial disputes, arbitrations, securities litigation, antitrust and white collar criminal defense matters.  The Best Lawyers in America© named David its 2020 securities litigation "Lawyer of the Year" in Miami.

David and the firm obtained a $67 million jury verdict after a lengthy federal trial in Coquina Investments v. TD Bank.  In a landmark decision, the jury found that TD Bank had defrauded investors caught up in the Scott Rothstein Ponzi scheme.  The verdict was the largest federal jury award in Florida during 2012.

David launched Mandel & Mandel in 1997.  He is licensed to practice in Florida, Illinois, New York and the District of Columbia.  David is a member of the Federal Bar Association, the American Bar Association and is the former chairman of the Federal Court Committee of the Dade County Bar Association.  A Chicago native, David practiced law in Illinois before becoming an Assistant United States attorney in the Southern District of Florida in 1989.  As a federal prosecutor, David tried numerous cases involving complex fraud, money laundering, narcotics and arms trafficking.  After leaving the government in 1995, David worked at the international law firm of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, where he led the Miami office’s corporate investigations and criminal defense practice group.

David obtained his A.B. degree, magna cum laude, from Brown University.  He studied at the London School of Economics and received his J.D. from Cornell Law School.  He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in London, and was appointed to the Panel of Arbitrators for the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) and for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).  David was a member of The Wilson Council at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C from 2007-2018.
